"On The Edge" limited edition of 50 12.5" x 24" Wall Hanging $285.00 My family and I have made many trips through the mountains of Alberta and British Columbia as we traveled back and forth between Washington and Alaska. Among our favorite trips were those we made in late spring. This was the perfect time of year to observe the mountain goats as they taught their young on the rugged rock edges of Alberta's grand peaks. "On the Edge" was inspired by many opportunities spent, simply observing these amazing creatures maneuvering effortlessly out on the edge. "On the Edge" is one of the first pieces where I employed a technique of bi-layering . "On the Edge" was created on two different layers which are set apart from each other to emphasize the distance represented in this piece. After being cut, I painstakingly detail each piece, gouging detail lines into the steel with my torch. Various techniques were used to create the uniquely realistic texture he applied to the rock face. At this point, rough edges were rounded and shaped and the finished product was painted with a combination of airbrush and brush acrylic. This is truly one of a kind. Though it is a numbered piece, no two are ever exactly the same.
